Sasha Allen has been the sole transgender openly performing artist to have made it through the Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. This has been the situation for the past 21 seasons. The Newtown duo of Jim and Sasha Allen, have made it to the Top 8 in the 21-year history of the Live Shows The Voice! Sasha disclosed that he was transgender while preparing to participate in their participation in the Blind Auditions, and he stated to Parade.com that this was a choice that required thought and careful consideration. Sasha changed his gender in high school, and stated that it was challenging to disclose such the vulnerability of his character before so many people.
